Assuming you are still looking at individual tabs yourself:
For visiting the same sites, if you're not willing to just keep them open all the time, you could just save those sites as bookmarks/speed dials. When you put multiple sites into a single bookmark/speed dial folder, you can rightclick the folder for the option to open all the sites inside as new tabs, if that's what you need.
For search words, I guess it depends how the site you're using handles them. Any site that includes the search in the link address can go through the same bookmark/speed dial process.
If you're only looking for updates, you might find success in using RSS feeds.
As for the suggestion itself in general, I think it's possible to do.
