No speed dial after bookmark restore

Hi. I'm using Windows 11 with opera version 110.0.5130.66. After replacing a dead laptop I copied the bookmarks file from my old laptop and restored my bookmarks bar ok. But it didn't bring back my speed dial entries which should be in the bookmarks file. Why haven't they appeared?

Yes, bookmarks bar and speed dial were both there. My laptop hardware failed so I copied the bookmarks file from the SSD.

Apologies, I thought you meant could I see them on my old laptop. I'll check the file tomorrow. I also did a backup so I will check that too.

I have checked the bookmarks file and I can see the speed dial entries in there as well as the bookmarks bar, but they are not showing on the page. The bin contents are also in the file and everything in it and they are available. Very odd, I don't know, and cannot verify, the version of Opera on my old laptop but it was always up to date.

I have just stopped opera, loaded the file from my original laptop SSD drive, as the adaptor has just arrived (rather than the backup I used, made the day the laptop expired), restarted and checked the bookmarks again. Now, under 'other bookmarks' is a folder with my old laptop id which has the speed dial entries in. Must be a problem with the backup, as the one on the drive seems to work. Thanks for your help.
