Please Bring Back the “Show News” Option in Opera Stable!Suggestions and feature requests
Hello everyone,
What’s been driving me up the wall lately is that in the latest Opera Stable, there’s no longer a “Show news” toggle—you only get the dreaded “Show selected content”, which means the Opera team decides what I see. Meanwhile, in Opera Beta and Opera Developer, I can personalize my news feed exactly how I like it.
I miss having full control over my news. It’s like being handed a mystery-flavor jellybean and told to enjoy it—only to find out it’s Brussels sprout. 🥴 I want the buffet back, not a single pre-plated serving!
My suggestion:
Restore the original “Show news” option in the next Stable update, so users can choose their own topics and sources. Let us power-users have our cake—and decide its flavor ourselves. If you agree, please give this post an up-vote or drop a comment. Let’s make sure Opera hears us loud and clear: we want personalized news, not editorial hand-outs!
Thanks for reading—and thanks in advance for your support!

RE: Opera One gets Music Player access in the toolbar and adds user-requested updatesBlogs
I would like to restore the option to display news as it is in the Opera Developer and Opera Beta browsers, because the show selected content option is useless, none of the users can choose what they want, and what there was back then was something!

[Duplicated][Generic]Allow to personalize Show Selected Content" on the start pageSuggestions and feature requests
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am asking you kindly to consider the changes regarding the 'Show selected content on the start page' section. The current function does not meet my expectations, because I think that the user should decide what starting page he wants to have and what content should appear on it.
I suggest introducing the following modifications in the upcoming update:
Freedom to choose topics: enabling the user to determine what the topics of the message he wants to receive.
Adjusting the update frequency: the interval setting option, how many minutes the selected content is to be refreshed - just like the functionality that was available in previous versions.
Section of observed content: Adding a place where the user could create lists of observed elements, including channels from websites such as YouTube and other video platforms, without restrictions on their number.
I am convinced that the introduction of the above improvements will allow you to adapt the starting page even better to the individual needs of users, which will significantly affect the comfort of using the browser.
Thank you for your time and considering my proposal. If necessary, I remain available to discuss the details.

[Opinion]"Show Selected Content" in start page shows outdated and uninteresting materialGeneral
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my opinion and propose changes to the "Show selected content" section on the home page.
Previously, the content presented in this section was of high quality and was very valuable. Unfortunately, as a result of recent modifications, when automatically selected categories were introduced, the system mainly displays materials that are often outdated. Additionally, the section contains videos from YouTube, which do not always meet my expectations.
In connection with the above, I kindly ask you to consider introducing in a future update an option that would allow users to independently designate the content they would like to see on the home page. The user could select the materials themselves (for example, by following selected YouTube channels, which act as a "strainer" for the latest videos), and the section would display only the latest content that meets their preferences.
I believe that such a solution will improve the comfort of using the service, enabling a more personalized and satisfying experience.
I kindly ask you to consider my proposal.
Yours sincerely,
Bohdan Filas

Mrowa378Opera for Windows
I would like to ask you to consider several important improvements that could improve the quality of Internet browsing.
Firstly, Lucid Mode, a promising video quality improvement feature, currently falls short of expectations. Please restore its full functionality and add further configuration options.
Secondly, introducing performance settings similar to those found in other browsers would be a huge step forward. The ability to choose between resource saving mode and maximum performance, as well as automatic optimization of the browser depending on the tasks performed, are functions that are missing in Opera.
Third, I would like to be able to personalize the browser more. The ability to follow selected topics in the news, receive notifications of new videos on the home page and adjust the audio quality on streaming services would be very useful.
I am convinced that introducing these changes would make Opera even more popular among users around the world.

Opera browser add-ons written for ChromeOpera add-ons
I would love to see add-ons, no matter how many are installed, so that they don't slow down the browsing experience and the browser websites.

RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
I would very much like to ask you that in the future major update to the browser there will be a lot of useful features, such as other competing browsers that leave Opera behind, and I would very much like to be able to increase the performance of this browser regardless of how many times, as long as it starts up very quickly and open websites as soon as possible and features to jump to designated sites or folders as quickly as possible. What kind? The user himself would decide everything. You can arrange them nicely and have quick access to each of them. However, it was not an absolute novelty - previously ** Opera ** had it. Just look around to see what other browsers like ** Vivaldi and Microsoft Edge ** have. I wish there were as many personalization options as possible for the ** Opera for Windows ** browser. **
